Whitney Jones, DVM

The day I received my doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM), I became the person I had always wanted to be. Almost without thinking, I was steered towards emergency medicine, and I have been on the same unerring path for the last (almost) 3 years. And, while it’s been an adventure, I realized that so little of my time is spent experiencing. After what feels like a lifetime and a single moment, I have chosen to resurface into the world, and use my many spare hours between overnight shifts to begin casual conversation and exploration into the beauty of this connected world with one simple idea:

                             Venture beyond what I know- cook, bake, write, travel, read, discover- while remaining grounded in the knowledge that I am a scientist, and on occasion, I will need to talk science.

This blog is leap into the unknown, and I hope that you as my readers will delve into this new experience with the same amount of curiosity and amusement as I, and maybe together we can all find a new talent, a new joy, a new outlook.
